Hurricane Laura offers an opportunity for SW Electric/G&B Marine, a local company, to shine.

On August 27th, while SW Electric/G&B Marine's Employees dodged the Catagory 4 Hurricane Laura as it roared ashore in Cameron Parish, a Dry Dock in Port Arthur, Texas wasn't so lucky. SW/G&B were back to work; when the call came in, there were problems, and they needed electrical parts fast the drydock had gone to the bottom. Saltwater soaked every electrical item on the dry dock.

"We value their business, and we are ready willing and able to crawl through a soaked vessel if that is what it takes" -- Brian Wulf, President of SW/G&B.

With that, SW/G&B's team of marine veterans went to work with the Dry Dock's Technicians to survey, specify, and supply cable, breakers, fixtures, glands, and lugs. In a week, deliveries are complete, even considering the changes that always show up on these jobs.

In the end, SW/G&B helped them meet their deadline to have the unit operational, so the next vessel scheduled was able to be serviced with limited interruption.
